| As a young African-American college student in the early 1980s, I discovered Bill Pierce and "Night Sounds" on the radio one evening while working the nightshift to earn extra money for school. His voice, the music, the gentleness of the program touched deep into my inner spirit, and from that point on I made it apart of my schedule. Even now I still hum the opening music and try my hardest to hold the last note of the music in length with the music. LOL! Bill, you will be missed. Your uniquness in spreading the gospel has made an impact on my entire life. | |

| I lost a dear friend when Bill went home. We met in the early 50s, when we were playing for a Youth for Christ International Convention at Winona Lake, Warsaw In. Night Sounds became our goodnight time for 30 years. Bill wrote a beautiful endorsement for my book, "Benny to Beyonce-Finding God's Perfect Pitch for Your Life. I will miss visiting with this precious man over the telephone. The nightly tradition with my wife and Bill will not end.May God comfort Bill's family in their loss. | |

| Some 56 years ago it was my privilege to direct Bill Pearce as he was the announcer on "Sailor Sam" a continuing children's radio drama. I was a student Producer as a Moody Bible Institute Senior working on WMBI, the flagship station of the Moody Broadcasting Network in Chicago. Bill set the stage verbally for each episode of the series, and Dick Anthony was the instrumentalist. They both were very kind and accepting of me as a fledgling radio producer, and a joy to work with in the studio and control room. Bill later developed his "Nightwatch" program which gained a large audience and ministered most effectivley to a host of listeners. He was a musical master and also knew how to most appropriately intersperse his spiritual commentary with the music. Our paths only crossed a couple of times in subsequent years, but even then we had a warm and friendly dialogue. He has gone to his heavenly reward, but I am very pleased to know that his gracious and God-honoring radio ministry will continue to impact multitudes for the Lord. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints!" Psalm 116:15. | |

| I met Bro. Bill Pearce in the 80's in the Twin Cities, at one of his concerts, you are right my brother, he was a genius, on of the true giants in his field. Earlier on for a Valentine's gift I sent in and got a couple of his CD's at that time the contact person told me he was I think she said assessed living, and was no longer able to play his trombone due to Parkinson's. I can remember many a nights when I was going through troubled waters falling asleep listening to Nightsounds. | |

| Bill soft and soothing voice was a comfort to me when I was afraid or anxious. I listened to him on Radio 74 in Geneva, Switzerland, expecting the good LORD to speak and advise me through Bill's voice. I wished he would live till the age of 90 or more but the LORD has taken Bill home and given him rest. May his soul rest in peace. Sincere condolences. | |

| I live in Switzerland and listen to Radio 74 which is run by Ron. One night after a bible study away from my home I turned on the radio when I was driving and this beautiful voice filled my car and my being with its peace. Bill's voice is one of the most lovely and soothing voices I have ever heard, Ron also has a lovely voice which he said last night during his tribute to Bill that he had modelled it on him. I had a cry when I heard that his light has gone to heaven but I am glad that he is fee from suffering and in peace with Jesus who he is so devoted to. I am so thankful that Radio 74 will continue to include his wonderful programmes in the evening. I would like to finish by saying that I am praying for his family who will miss him very much until they are reunited. Praise You our blessed Saviour for giving us Bill and bless his family with the peace that passes all understanding and bless all those who leave messages here. | |

| I'm so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. Back in the 70's I used to listen to Nightsounds on shortwave HCJB from Quito, Ecuador. In those days, Bill's program had a truly worldwide reach! I always enjoyed his very calm and peaceful presentation, and his kindly advice. As it says on his website, his program is structured to run for many years. What a great thing that is! The needs of his listeners won't ever run out, and so neither will the reach of Bill's work. Thanks Bill! | |

| I had the opportunity to hear Bill Pearce at one of the early Trombone Conventions in Nashville in the early 70's. I already owned one of his records and was so thirlled to find another Christian who played trombone. Later, while a grad student at Ithaca College I discovered his radio program, Nightsounds, and immediately made it a point to listten to it almost every night. That program brought great comfort and strength spitritually and emoitonally to me during a time I needed it most. The Lord knew I needed that at that time in my life. May God continue using this greta program to reach many folks in years to come | |

| I am deeply sadden by the announcement of Bill's passing, which I just heard after listening to his program tonight. I truly loved Bill's calming voice and smoothing trombone playing. I have been a listener of his since I was a student in high school in Lakeland, FL during the late 70's. It has been over 30 years that NightSounds radio program has given me great comfort including a tenure in the US Air Force then later university. I often wondered about his health and age because I did not want to experience the lost of his radio program which airs at 11:30 on the local station 91.1 fm. Many years ago the program aired at 12:00 am, and I would remain awake just to hear his voice and mesmerizing sound of the trombone. It would relax me and prepare me for the next day. I since that he led an excellent life and ministry. I pray that God comfort and protect all of his loved ones both family and friends. The only wise God to Him be glory and majesty, dominion and power, forever! God bless A grateful listener | |

| What a loss for us, but what a boon for Heaven's ensemble to gain his golden trombone and platinum voice. Bill's ministry meant so much to me, especially during troubled times when getting to sleep was a nightly trial. His narration of the Bible was also the best I ever heard. Thank you, Bill, and thank you also to his incredible supporting staff. I urge everyone to continue to support Nightsounds and allow his ministry to live on. "Well done, good and faithful servant," indeed. | |

| I write this from the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, TN. In the Christian radio world we have lost a giant of a man. Bill Pearce was such a mentor to me, even if from afar. I met him once, but feel like I know him, as many others feel the same. One of my dreams in Christian radio for 30 years now has been to one day "be like Bill Pearce" on late night radio. I am on nationwide Christian radio 3 hours each weeknight, talking "live" with callers across America. As I host "Life Perspectives" radio, I end many nights with a sign-off paying tribute to Bill Pearce. I often close the broadcast by saying, "I'm Jim Cress, wishing you a very pleasant good night". How many times I heard Bill say those comforting words as his "Beau Soir" theme music was coming to an end. Bill's earthly suffering has ended, but his ministry here on earth through recorded "Nightsounds" programs will continue for a long time. And so brother Bill Pearce, this is Jim Cress wishing you a very pleasant good night . . . and I'll see you in the morning. | |

| My family was stationed in Guam, Micronesia in the mid to late 1970's. In 1976, Typhoon Pamela hit the island hard and we were without power for a considerable time. As children, we thought it great fun! Every night, the family would lay our futons out in the great room and by the light of an oil lamp listen to Night Sounds with Bill Pierce then lights out. It was a family ritual and even now, the haunting, relaxing opening and closing music takes me back. I had just recently rediscovered Night Sounds, and when I went to the website to listen, I learned of Mr. Pierces passing. I feel as if I have lost a family member. I hope and pray Night Sounds will stay on the air, but no one could replace Bill Pierce. Thank you for Night Sounds, Mr. Pierce. | |

| Thank you Bill Pierce for obeying God's voice and sharing His word with your serene voice! My mother went to heaven a few years ago after honorably raising her sixteen children and blessing her fifty plus grandchildren. We are now left with my dad who is eighty one years old. We couldn' come close to singing like the sixteen singing men, but we are seven men and nine women who sing with our hearts to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We try to honor God and our mother who fulfilled her mission in life. We pray for Bill Peirce's family to do the same. We love you. Thank you for sharing your father and loved one, Bill Pierce with us... oh yeah, thank God for Bill Pierce's serene voice. He helped me immensely through sad times while I was a deputy sheriff and was being greatly persecuted by superiors and fellow deputies, who did not appreciate my stance for Christ nor my commitment to professionalism. Bill helped me through these tumultuous times with his "old" gospel music (which you can understand) and again that sweet gentle spirit Bill conveyed as he loyally served Jesus. His compassion and comfort were a source of help through my times of sadness, disillusionment, disappointment, and bleak, black, dispondency. Bill, "gentle shepherd", God richly bless your family and thank God for your faithfullness. I am your grateful listener and honored to have heard you. Muchisimas Gracias! Thank you very much! Amen! Jesus is risen and Bill is in paradise with him. PS. Last but not least----oh if there were many, many, more men like Bill. this world would be super more peaceful and the women of this world would rejoice (and even honor men). Gloria a Dios!!! | |

| My son, Ted, informed me of Bill's death. Bill is one of my heroes. I loved him. I have listened to his 30 minute Nightsounds radio program for 40 years. He gave me his devotional booklet "Quiet Moments with Bill Pearce" when I visited him in his studio in Rockford, Illinois in 1992. I treasure it. My missionary parents had just returned from Africa in the forties. They were discouraged. Bill's dad was a guest speaker at a Bible Conference in Spokane, WA where they attended. The Lord used him in a definite way to speak Truth into their hearts. I called Bill on the phone once to greet him. He shared Colossians 3:23 with me. It says, "Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." This has helped me in my life. I'm grieving, but praise God we will be re-united through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ray C. delaHaye Los Angeles, CA | |

| Bill Pearce and Night Sounds have been a part of my life for a long time. Bill Pearce has been my musical hero and inspiration since the mid-1960's. Having been a brass player for 50 years I have tried to emulate his sound and style of playing. I have his printed trombone solo music (which is now out-of-print). I also have nearly all of his records. Having just graduated from high school in 1967 I meet Mr. Pearce in June of 1967 at the Youth for Christ International Convention in Winona Lake, IN. Thank you for your godly inspiration to many people. | |
